Thenhipalam, not “Calicut”
Visitors flying into Karipur sometimes think the university is next to the airport because both are in Malappuram. They are not the same place. Tell the driver “Calicut University campus, Thenhipalam” and the department if you know it. Pareeksha Bhavan, the CHMK library and the teaching schools are not one porch.
Buses run on the Kozhikode–Malappuram road through the day. A cab is the one to book when you have a viva in the morning, a parent with luggage, or a train to catch at Palayam afterwards.
Airport and railway connections
Calicut International Airport is at Karipur, also in Malappuram, north of the university campus. Kozhikode railway station is in the city, so a station pickup continues south past the city.
